The Maxwell method is a color matching experimental method proposed by physicist James Clerk Maxwell and is one of the fundamental experimental methods in color science.
LEDMax uses the Maxwell method by:
• Allowing observers to compare and match the appearance of two colors through a side-by-side hemifield matching setup
• Illuminating each side with two spectrally tunable LED systems
• Creating multiple three-color combinations for color matching through 18 channels
• Ultimately generating LMS and XYZ color matching function results to quantify individual color perception characteristics
